Girls on the Run

On Saturday, November 10th, 2018 GOTR participants braved the cold to run their 5K at Children’s Mercy Park!  They did wonderfully!

New Stanley is privileged to have a Girls on the Run program  for 3rd to 5th grade girls that meets two days a week after school. Girls on the Run is a national program that includes lessons that encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development. [girlsontherun.org]  At New Stanley, we have two seasons — one in the fall and one in the spring.  Girls unable to participate in the Fall season will have another opportunity in the Spring.  In addition to the lessons and running, or walking, together at the meetings the girls participate in a community impact project — volunteering at the Go Girl Run event and a 5k at the end of the season. Thank you to our dedicated staff who volunteer to make this happen! Run, Girls, Run!
