We are happy to offer our students enrolled in KidZone the opportunity to be part of Kids in the Kitchen. Kids in the Kitchen is a kid-friendly four-week curriculum that focuses on food preparation, food safety skills, nutrition and the importance of making healthy food choices. Our own Nurse Ryan was trained by Harvesters, the sponsor of the Kids in the Kitchen program, to present this program to K-2 and 3-5 students in KidZone after school. This week the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders made green goddess dressing. YUM!

Using Math EVERY Day!
When Kansas City based Holland 1916 turned 100 last year, they celebrated by making a commitment to open their doors to school kids to come see firsthand how their employees are using math in their daily operations. Student toured Holland NamePlates, and saw multiple examples of math at use in Shipping, ScreenPrinting, Scheduling and Laser Cutting . Students worked together to solve industry-related problems and even had the oppoturnity to screen print their own Do Not Disturb sign. Thank you Holland 1916 for opening your doors and providing this unique and valuable experience for New Stanley’s 5th graders.
